This series of photographs were dropped in my emailbox recently and the description stated the scene of this snake vs. Goanna took place in Cloudbreak, Arizona. There are two problems here: Goanna are only found in Australia (with a stray species in Tasmania) and there is no town of Cloudbreak in Arizona.
Nevermind those minor details; wherever this occurred, seeing a snake consume anything, much less something full of claws & teeth, is fascinating. Check out more photos after the jump.

Following up on Friday’s post, this story comes out of South Dakota…..
During a pheasant hunt near Highmore, these hunters ran into trouble when one of the dogs came across a few rattlesnakes, getting bit in the process. Perhaps more appropritely, the snakes ran into trouble.
Following the cock hunt, the gang regrouped and set off to bag some snakes that threatened the remainder of the season. The result: 86 fewer rattlesnakes!

Here’s the latest making the round via email: ”Snake vs. Kangaroo”. The “versus” part looks to have been over and done with, this more like the aftermath.
No word on the location but I feel good knowing it’s not my backyard here in the Carolinas.
Check out the series of photos after the jump.

Where I come from, snakes are all over but you have to have a good eye before stepping on them. Down in Del Rio, Texas apparently, you’re likely to shiver in yer boots running over a speed bump in the Walmart parking lot because that’s about the same size as their big rattlers.
