Patience Pays Off

Chip November 5, 2008 Deer

Another big buck taken from Cevey Pennington’s ranch in Colorado.  Last week we posted about Jody Enget and her first muley there in Elizabeth, CO.  It’s a beautiful place and during my visit there last spring we took time out from branding cattle to cruise the property on four wheelers and spotted several nice deer.  Earlier this week, on the last day of the season, Pennington’s cattle partner knocked down this wallhanger.

Looks to be an 12-pointer (6×6 for you western folks).  A sticker on the left side and extra point near the right brow tine will make for some nice talking points once it’s hung in the living room.

  1. Actually, that should read – it’s a 6×6 (12 pointer for you eastern folks.) :) Just kidding – it’s a dandy buck no matter how you look at it! Congrats to the hunter!

My buddies like to give me a hard time about that when they’re not jibing me on my accent! Yup, lot of nice bucks there at Cevey’s, I’ve got to get out there one year.
