As the salt heats after ignition it becomes a solid! and that my friend is like slinging a very big projectile! If shot in the leg it would blow it half off! You have very little accurecy with "salt" but believe you me at close range it's awsome! You live n a ranch huh? yea right, whatcha got? 6 acres? yes, rock salt works very well! I'm sure that when the mountain lion had you in it's sites, I'm sure that it was a close draw...you know, who shot first (and) all. Did you know that in the last twenty years we have had the largest amount of mountain lions killed EVER?!? I'm sure you don't care, and after reading this you'll probobly go back to watching nascar or whatever (wonderful cultural hobbies you partake in). In closing, remember this, I grew up on a ranch, (and) have had multiple nonviolent interactions with felis concolor. To call them a "menace", or a "problem" is a crock of (finely churned butter). Who was living here first, and if you felt strongly enough about it, rock salt works (insert uncreative term here) wonders. What a big brave man!
