hunting and trapping is part of america. sorry. the native americans did it. our forefathers did it. its part of life. i dont believe in hunting with the sole purpose of putting a mount on your wall. but i believe in hunting for the adventure and the connection with nature. for the price of a bullet i can fill my freezer. i'll eat venisen over store bought steroid/hormone stuffed cow meat anyday.

how sad.......possibly one of the largest cats in north america.......i wonder how long it took the great cat to get to that size? the only thing that justifies a kill like this is an attack on ones property or livelyhood......which is true of this kill...... but it's still sad to think an animal of this size and beauty has been wiped off the map for good......:(

yes, rock salt works very well! As the salt heats after ignition it becomes a solid! and that my friend is like slinging a very big projectile! If shot in the leg it would blow it half off! You have very little accurecy with "salt" but believe you me at close range it's awsome! You live n a ranch huh? yea right, whatcha got? 6 acres?

What a big brave man! I'm sure that when the mountain lion had you in it's sites, I'm sure that it was a close draw...you know, who shot first (and) all. Did you know that in the last twenty years we have had the largest amount of mountain lions killed EVER?!? I'm sure you don't care, and after reading this you'll probobly go back to watching nascar or whatever (wonderful cultural hobbies you partake in). In closing, remember this, I grew up on a ranch, (and) have had multiple nonviolent interactions with felis concolor. To call them a "menace", or a "problem" is a crock of (finely churned butter). Who was living here first, and if you felt strongly enough about it, rock salt works (insert uncreative term here) wonders.

That's a cat worth being nice to. Or shooting. Preferably the latter. Congrats to the hunter - I think there are some happy deer as well as cattle if the story holds true.
