If you haven’t taken a look at what’s happening in airguns since your days growing up with a well-worn pellet Crosman, what these rifles are capable of nowadays are wildly impressive. Springs have been replaced with nitrogen-filled gas rams (the same “shock absorber” that raises the trunk lid on your SUV) so there little recoil and dang near no noise. Then there are the PCP guns. These “pre-charged pneumatics” have an onboard reservoir capable of delivering shots at 1100 fps and carrying enough energy to kill a 180 pound hog at 40 yards.
The video above was shot by Cliff over at his VarmintAir’s Airgun Hunting Blog and features the Benjamin Marauder .25 caliber taking out ground hogs from 69 to 103 yards!
Along with the .25 cal, the Marauder is available in .177 and .22. Look for the Marauder PCP Air Pistol in .22 caliber in November.
