The time of year is fast approaching when the sounds of happy kids clamoring for candy, spooky howls haunt neighborhoods, and the screeching of car brakes as bucks go looking for the next sweet thing cross roads without looking both ways. Deer season is among us folks and that means the rut won’t be far behind. Down in Manning, South Carolina, things got off to early start as Doubletougher Ceth Land explains the photo above,
“He was standing by the side of the road outside our hunt club. Had been hit by a car. One rear leg was broken, the other pretty busted up. Could barely walk. Had my son step out and shoot him.”
Sad to see such a magnificent SC buck just coming out of velvet go down early to a car. Keep your eyes peeled out there this season, and keep it between the white lines.
