Kansas? Illinois? How about Maryland

Chip August 12, 2008 Deer

When I first got word about this hunt, the email said it was in Morgan county, Georgia.  Then it turned into Morgan, Maryland.  As it turns out there is no Morgan of anything in Maryland but there is a Doubletough hunter by the name of Bill Crutchfield, Jr. in Newburg, Maryland.  He was the man behind the shotgun on a Monday in 2006 when this 26-point behemoth was harvested.

According to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the buck green-scored 268 5/8 and was set to become the #1 non-typical taken on the East coast, ever, and among the Top 20 in the world.  Bill’s buck topped the scales at 150 pounds, had a 20-inch inside spread and 25-inch main beams!
