Don’t know anything about this one but the email said “540 class”.  He’s a hoss alright, but I’m a bit skeptical on it going 540.

According to Boone and Crockett, the largest non-typical elk came in at 478 5/8 (2008, Denny Austad, Piute County, Utah).  For that matter, the largest typical elk was 442 5/8 (1968, Alonzo Winters, White Mountains, Arizona).

If you know anything about this bruiser and the hunter, let us know in the Comments.  Check out another photo after the jump.

I can see it going that large – it definitely has the mass and tine length – but I’m calling this a high fenced bull. My two and a half cents.

  2. Cory Glauner says:

That’s crazy big. High fence. I’d bet on it.

  3. Todd McDonald says:

i would bet this bull was taken in the Davis Mountains or Glass mountains in west texas probably Longfellow ranch or CF ranch

  4. Cole Ullom says:

This bull came off a private high fence ranch in Collbran, Colorado. Who really cares what a pet scores.
