What is it with trees falling on elk? I step on a twig and they take off quicker’n Usain Bolt, but apparently they’re no match for a scragglin’ ol’ dead pine tree.

You’re right, there has been a string of elk/tree conflicts the last few years. Doesn’t seem to turn out too well for the elk.
how can elk seem so smart but get outsmarted by trees
