Bladen County is in the southeastern region of North Carolina and is a great area for deer. This buck was taken from a stand by an 11 year old boy from Clayton, NC. The story has it he and his father were hunting off a field near Clarkton, NC and when it walked out, the man gave his son his 30-30 to give him a chance at his first deer. The boy did not let him down!
The buck weighed in at 160 pounds, had 21 scoreable points, a drop tine, split brow tines and some other junk contributing to a 189 5/8 non-typical score.
Thanks to Billy Bertram for sending this in!

Wow… that’s all I’ve got to say.
My son Chandler is 13 yrs old and has never seen a buck that large….When I told him of this story his response was ” that is one lucky son of a gun” ! Referencing the young man that killed this monster.
